While we’re still a month away from their winter programming, TD Ottawa Jazz Festival has already announced a few names for its summer program.

A full lineup is still to come but soul singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, jazz banjo player Béla Fleck, and trumpet player Chris Botti will be hitting the main stage during the fest’s run from June 21 to July 1. The festival is also moving across the street from its usual Confederation Park location, and operating primarily out Marion Dewar Plaza.

For those looking for something more immediate, the TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Fest is running from February 8-10 with enough programming to make its brief stay memorable. Emma Frank’s vocals have been described as “leather on silk” and her mix of jazz and R&B sound has drawn many comparisons to Charlotte Day Wilson. Chet Doxas is also playing his vintage New York-inspired jazz, drawing from punk and new wave with his latest CBC-endorsed album.

This year’s special project comes in the shape of Taps and Traps, blending the tap-dancing work of Heather Cornell with the percussion of Jesse Stewart.
