After months of waiting and speculation on who would play, RBC Bluesfest announced quite the surprising lineup for 2018. Headliners like Foo Fighters, Shawn Mendes, Beck, Rise Against, Jethro Tull and even Zeds Dead will be playing LeBreton Flats from July 5 – 15. The lineup is more diverse than ever with artists like Kimbra, Chromeo, Ghostface Killah, Courtney Barnett, Brockhampton, M. Ward, Benjamin Booker, Noname, and even Hanson.

Though online reactions would suggest people are bothered by the range of genres, executive director Mark Monahan claims it’s actually the opposite.

“Our public consultation reaffirmed that people feel strongly about their specific interests,” said Monahan, who also explained the proof was in the sales data.

Local artists like Catriona Sturton, Tara Shannon, The Peptides, LeMeow, and Okies were also announced on the stacked lineup. Monahan has also stated the festival will be addressing security concerns after 2017’s festival, meaning it will be pretty hard to stay away from Bluesfest in 2018.
